About Me
My name is John Tonks and I am the proprietor of Job Done Handyman. I offer a complete property maintenance service for the home and garden. Updating any property to present day requirements can add substantial value, even in this market place.
I started my working life as a pilot officer in the RAF. My range of DIY skills have developed as a result of over 30 years experience in property maintenance, refurbishment and construction. It is very important to deliver a high quality finish time after time whilst successfully operating to timelines. I am extremely customer focused after years in the retail and hospitality sectors and I fully understand the value of offering integrity, honesty and attention to detail. Above all it is vital to understand customer requirements so that I can deliver exactly what is asked. I have detailed below some of my experience to date.

Ford MMP - Marquees Part of a team responsible for on-site erection and internal build of bespoke marquees for country shows including the Royal Cornwall show and the Royal Show. Internal builds include integrated flooring, partition walling, counters, display modules and ancillary furniture.

Job Done Handyman - Cornwall
- Shop Frontage - facelift including hardwood sill replacement, preparation and repaint
- Shop Interior - complete refurbishment including preparation of walls and ceiling, repainting and carpet replacement. Production and on site construction of clothing rails, counters, fitting room and general fittings.
- House Refurbishment - Bath mixer tap repaired, shower cubicle real sealed and grouted and door refitted, heater fitted with new electrical circuit, dismantled toilet and new flush and drainage pipes fitted, floor cut back, treated for wood worm and new boards fitted, cast iron fire place refitted to wall, chimney swept, air vent fitted, pelmet constructed and fitted, carpet fitted, door repainted with filet to outer edge, repair to window casement and leaking gutter, satellite dish fitted, curtain rails and net curtain rails put up
- Kitchen Fit - new plumbing, extended electrical ring main for appliance sockets and oven, installed Calor Gas pipe work for hob, existing units refurbished and installed, new worktop fitted, new up stands fitted
- Fireplace - contemporary fire surround with sold ash top and tiled base

Job Done Handyman - Midlands
- Maize maze - Full responsibility for design and pathway clearing to create a 7 acre maize maze at Earlswood near Birmingham. Also included the design and construction of wooden buildings: ticket office and shop, refreshment booth, 15 meter lookout and watch tower, brick built BBQ and concrete BBQ area.
- Craft Centre - Refurbishment of craft centre shops and units and extension of public toilets
- Restaurant - Design and project management of kitchen and dining area in a health spa
- Fencing work – post and rail fencing of field for horses
- General domestic work - garden patio laid, kitchen shelves constructed, bath resealed, bathroom shelves put up, retractable clothes line, toilet cistern repair, hedge cutting and high wooden fence erected
- Tiling - Tiled around kitchen worktops and splash backs
- Garden decking - Built a garden deck 8m x 4m
- Fitted wardrobes - Built fully fitted wardrobes with solid wood doors, 4m long
- Laminate flooring - fitted flooring, underlay and borders - 36sqm
- Fitted kitchen - fully fitted contemporary Italian kitchen and appliances with marble floor tiles and stone wall tiles
- Fitted 3 new bathrooms including, sanitary fittings, plumbing of showers, sinks, baths and toilets, tiling of floors, walls and up-stands, installation of lighting
- Fully fitted farmhouse kitchen with American style butchers block including, hand-making of cupboard doors, tiled work top, installation of appliances, sinks, range cooker and large extractor hood
- Full decoration throughout including sanding and preparation, edging and cutting in and paint effects
- Handmade solid oak bar, bookcase and bench style seating
- Stonework - wall, seat and patio area to match existing house walls
- Outside - terracing, tree planting, lawn care, post and rail fencing, driveway and courtyard prepared and stones laid (100 tons)
